| Welcome to Camp Avenue! Welcome to Camp Avenue! Camp Avenue Elementary School, built in 1923 with two subsequent expansions, is celebrating its eighty-sixth birthday. It is the three story "grand dame" of the North Merrick school community. All of us are proud of our students' successes, both academically and socially. Our philosophy of being kind, caring, and helpful to everyone, is augmented by the importance of children learning to always include others. The sights of spring will soon be upon us. Herein, Camp Avenue Elementary School will host a variety of programs and/or events, including the Reflections Awards Celebration, the Junior Chorus Concert, the kick-off of PARP, and Bingo for Books. In addition, Calhoun High School students will return once again, presenting the 6th Grade Athletes Helping Athletes Program. Lastly, our intermediate level students are hard at work preparing for the upcoming NYS assessments, scheduled for late April and early May. Many thanks are sent to the PTA Book Fair Committee for sponsoring a book fair event. Many thanks are sent to the Camp families as well, for supporting this highly successful event. Kindergarten Registration took place in late January. The district will continue the registration process for families that could not attend the initial sessions – date and time to be announced. Best wishes for a happy and healthy spring! |
