Literature/Language Arts/Library

     The Literature/Language Arts Program promotes an appreciation for all types of literature.  The language arts teacher in each school works cooperatively with the classroom teacher to link reading and writing skills in all content areas.  An exposure to specific genres, such as poetry, folktales, biography, historical fiction, fantasy, realistic fiction, etc., in addition to newspapers and magazines, provides students with an understanding and respect for various writing styles and techiques.  Library and research skills are also key components of the program.  Book selection, library procedures, reference materials and technology are integral parts of this course of study.  The language arts teacher provides reading guidance to all students in the school.
