    Nightly Reading Record Homework

As part of your child's homework, he/she will be provided with a monthly Nightly Reading Record sheet.  After reading with your child for at least 5-10 minutes each night they should color one picture on the chart.  If you read longer than 10 minutes you need not color another picture.  Please return the reading log at the end of the month.  The students will earn a star next to their name for each month a log is returned completed. Each month a new seasonal reading log will be sent home.

Children's reading experts agree that reading aloud to your child offers the easiest and most effective way to turn them into lifelong readers.  Besides providing hours of enjoyment and a storehouse of knowledge and memories of story time that last a lifetime, reading helps your child develop four basic thinking skills: the ability to pay attention, a good memory, capability in problem solving, and proficiency in language. And it's as much fun for you as it is for your children.

Thank you for your continued support.
