The students must practice the skills taught during our speech and language sessions in order to facilitate progress and carryover of those skills. Parents/Guardians are an important part of the therapy process. Take some time to ask your child what he or she did during speech and language therapy and ask your child to show you their speech and language book or folder.
Both speech improvement students and classified students will be given a Speech and language notebook or folder. After each speech and language session, work completed during our sessions will be put in this notebook or folder. Your child will either be given homework or will be asked to review what we have done during our session with a parent/ guardian at home.
Children who are working on individual speech sounds (articulation goals) must practice their sound every day for at least 10 minutes!!
