Welcome to Kindergarten!
KINDERGARTEN HOURS:
The kindergarten doors open at 8:15 a.m. and the school day begins at 8:25 a.m. The kindergarten students are dismissed at 2:45 p.m. Please come forward at dismissal when you see our class being dismissed to meet your child. This helps to make dismissal run much more smoothly.
SNACKS:
Snack will begin on the first day of school. Please pack your child with a snack and a drink in a labeled lunch box or lunch bag. As this is an all-day kindergarten experience, the children will be having snack in the morning. Healthy snacks that are peanut/tree nut free are encouraged. Any snack item that contains nuts may not be eaten during snack time as our classroom is peanut/tree nut free.
CLASS BIRTHDAYS:
Our district has adopted a no-food policy for birthdays. Birthdays will still be celebrated in the classroom. Parents can send in non-food treat items such as pencils, stickers, play dough, glow sticks, and other small toys. Parents are also welcome to come to the classroom for their child's birthday to read a story to the class.
NOTES:
If you are sending someone in your place to pick up your child from school, it is imperative that we receive a note regarding this matter. Please identify this person by name and indicate which day(s) they will be picking up your child. The safety and security of our children is of utmost importance. If we do not know the person picking up your child please make sure that they have a photo ID.
A note is also required when your child is absent from school. Please send notes in upon your child's return to school.
SHOW AND TELL:
Show and Tell begins at the end of September. Please check the schedule below and send your child with something on their day. Please note that seats will change every month. Check your child's folder for more information regarding show and tell and their seat.
