The fourth graders have been busy writing poetry. They are enjoying using literary devices such as alliteration, imagery, personification, similes, and metaphors. Our budding poets have written a variety of poems that have come alive. Their poems are rich with sensory vocabulary. They are eagerly awaiting Open House where they will share their work during a “Poetry Picnic.” We are also happy to announce that there have been welcomed additions to our classroom families. We are the proud “pet parents” of 16 anole lizards. The students are studying the habitats that we have set up for our new friends. Each tank contains two lizards, an earthworm, and crickets. The students are enjoying the responsibility of caring for live animals.
