The North Merrick Board of Education and administration are committed to bringing the best and the brightest new staff members to our faculty. Our children deserve nothing less! To this end, all prospective candidates must undergo a very rigorous screening process. The initial steps in this process include the submission of a cover letter and resume and participation in one or more in-depth interviews with administration. Finalists are also required to complete a writing sample and must demonstrate teaching proficiency through a sample lesson with actual children. The final candidates are interviewed by the superintendent who makes a recommendation for appointment to our Board of Education. Once hired, new staff members also receive ongoing training, mentoring, and supervision.
