Mrs. Heather Cafiero
Hi Boys & Girls,
I hope you are staying safe and keeping busy with your time off from school. Here are some activities you should do while waiting for school to reopen.
Independent reading is encouraged...Choose a Storyworks article and then choose a response from "Suggestions for Writing About Reading" sheet. Please respond in the mini composition book that is also in your folder. The title of your writing response should be the same as the article you read. Continue to enjoy your books in your book baggie. Read aloud with someone you love to practice fluency, accuracy, expression, and of course quality time with family. For math, complete 2 pages in the review packet daily.
In addtition to the worksheets, please use IXL. Complete one math lesson and one language arts lesson daily. There are many options to choose from. Set a goal for your Smart Score (bottom right of page) to reach 80. If that is too easy, try for 90, if its too challenging aim for 70. If you get a question wrong, ask an adult to read the explanation so you understand the mistake you made before going on to the next question.
GoNoodle has great physical activities, Cosmic Yoga is great for mindfulness. Take breaks throughout your daily work. Try and get outside when the weather is nice. If you have a musical instrument make some time to practice. MOST OF ALL, be respectful to your parents and kind and patient with your siblings. This is a different way to live for everyone, but I know you can help make it a rewarding time for your entire family.
I miss you all already!
Love, Mrs. Cafiero
