Ms. Marcy Rodriguez

Welcome to Ms. Rodriguez's Reading Resource Web Page!

To teach a child to read is to give them the ability to become a lifelong learner.

Here are some ideas on how to practice your reading and writing skills at home:

- Read books in your take home bag and talk about what you have read with someone.

- Write about what you have read, or write about your day.

- Here are some websites you can use to support your reading and writing:

AbcYa

National Geographic Young Explorer

ReadWorks

Starfall

Storyline Online

Story Nory

Vocabulary & Spelling City

Ms. Rodriguez aims to strengthen students' reading skills in a learner friendly environment during small group reading sessions.

Students learn a variety of strategies to build their "thinking about thinking" and comprehension skills.   Students struggling with decoding are taught skills and word attack strategies that can help support their daily reading.

Students struggling with fluency and/or comprehension will be supported through the use of: LLI (Leveled Literacy Intervention); Making Connections; Read Naturally and/or Visualizing & Verbalizing.
