Camp Avenue sixth graders celebrate at moving up ceremony
It was a cause for elation and celebration for Camp Avenue School sixth graders, who crossed the stage and became middle schoolers during their moving up ceremony on June 25.
“Camp 2024” balloons adorned the stage, welcoming the Class of 2024 as they processed to “Pomp and Circumstance.” Student Council President Caden Robert Condela led the salute to the flag before Principal Dr. Hillary Bromberg and Superintendent Dr. Cynthia Seniuk congratulated students and reflected on their drive and tenacity.
Student speakers Patrick Robert Cleva, Abigail Marie Jesin, and GracieMae Munson recounted the lessons learned and memories made throughout their educational careers at Camp Avenue. Students sang “Time of Our Lives” by Tyrone Wells and “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield under the direction of conductor Rachel Lajara. Numerous awards were presented, and each sixth grade teacher presented certificates to their students. The Class of 2024’s brightest moments were encapsulated in a slide show before sixth graders recessed surrounded by cheers from the crowd.
