Curious minds challenged at North Merrick STEM Night

Curious minds challenged at North Merrick STEM Night

Through a plethora of games and activities, students from throughout the North Merrick School District gathered at Harold D. Fayette School to challenge their minds during STEM Night on Nov. 14.

North Merrick students of all ages were greeted with enticing interactive stations that were sure to meet the interests of any participator. Some required collaboration, such as suspending a marshmallow atop a tower of uncooked spaghetti. Independent creativity was also expressed through making paper crafts and slime. Putting their coding skills to the test, students designed instructions that made a small robot move around the room. Friends had a great time joining together for the special night, which was organized by North Merrick SEPTA and hosted by WINGS teacher Mara Karfinkel.
