Fayette School promotes peace with rainbow of pinwheels

The Harold D. Fayette School community in the North Merrick School District stood together to promote peace and happiness on Sept. 22 in recognition of the International Day of Peace.

Representatives of each class throughout the building bravely stood in front of their peers to share what peace means to them. Each class designed posters with peaceful messages and drawings. Following students’ presentation, the entire Fayette community gathered outside with rainbows of pinwheels in hand to form the shape of a heart next to the school playground. The massive display was a showcase of the school’s commitment to promoting an inclusive and caring environment.
