Fayette School’s Reading Ambassadors take peers on literary adventures

The latest round of Reading Ambassadors at Harold D. Fayette School in the North Merrick School District continued the mission to inspire a love of reading within their peers on May 29 as they visited classrooms to lead read-alouds and spread their love and enjoyment of a good story.

Third through sixth graders visited kindergarten through third grade classrooms to show their leadership by hosting the engaging read-alouds and discussions. With age-appropriate books in hand, all attention was on the Reading Ambassadors as they made their stories come to life. The classroom guests prompted their peers to raise their hands as they interjected interactive moments during their read. Throughout the year, Reading Ambassadors who proudly represent their class lead literary initiatives, such as recommending several books to add to the school library.
