Halloween season begins with North Merrick’s Trunk or Treat
It was costumes galore at the Harold D. Fayette School in the North Merrick School District as teachers and faculty members decorated their trunks and handed out treats to hundreds of students on Oct. 18.
The annual Trunk or Treat, hosted by the North Merrick Faculty Association, is a highly anticipated event that brings the community together. Ahead of the holiday, North Merrick students were ready with their inventive and imaginative Halloween costumes and were greeted with excitement by their teachers and school staff. The trunks of cars were decorated with eye-catching displays under various themes, such as “Candyland” or “Lego Land.” Aside from sweet treats, students also received goodies like bookmarks and enjoyed fun activities like limbo. Although it’s the season of scares, smiles shined on every face in attendance.
