North Merrick’s new teachers get prepped for the year ahead

New teachers in the North Merrick School District gathered at Harold D. Fayette School on Aug. 25 to prepare for a successful start to the school year during a new teacher orientation.

Fourteen new teachers, who will teach at Camp Avenue, Harold D. Fayette and Old Mill Road elementary schools, had the opportunity to meet district and school leaders, connect with colleagues and learn more about the district’s resources and instructional practices. The session provided valuable information to help educators become familiar with their new schools and classrooms while supporting a smooth transition into their new roles. The orientation also gave teachers an opportunity to ask questions, share ideas and build connections with fellow educators as they prepare to welcome students.
