Tracy Fischetti’s kindergarten class at Harold D. Fayette School had a wonderful morning visiting Donna Fox’s kindergarten class at Camp Avenue School. The students learned about the Pilgrims’ voyage on the Mayflower and were presented with a STEM challenge of building an aluminum foil boat that could float. They then added the Pilgrims, represented by pennies, to see how many their boats could hold. In addition, they used pattern blocks to create a Mayflower boat shape. It was a hands-on learning experience while the classes had the opportunity to get to know one another.
