Parent University Focuses on Wellness and Creativity
The North Merrick School District hosted the second Parent University of the school year on March 4 with the theme of creativity and wellness. Students and their parents had the opportunity to participate in hands-on and informative workshops and activities that took place throughout the Harold D. Fayette School.
For example, families learned about nutritious meals and music as therapy, created vibrant stormy night paintings and origami designs, and participated in relaxing yoga and stretching exercises. The General Purpose Room offered a wide variety of activities such as crafting chakra bracelets and eye pillows. Thanks to the North Merrick faculty and staff for their dedicated time, energy and innovative ideas that made this Parent University a zen experience for the families!
