North Merrick Sixth Graders Attend Character Education Assembly
Sixth grade students from Camp Avenue, Harold D. Fayette and Old Mill Road Schools attended an annual character assembly program at Brookside School last month.
Educational consultant Paul Failla, who is also an actor and former police officer, used humor, drama and role playing to bring home the message about avoiding destructive decisions and taking personal responsibility. Mr. Failla spoke passionately about the importance of values, such as respect, tolerance and dignity. He says his intent is to get into the hearts and minds of students, which was evident from the quiet, serious attention given by the North Merrick students in the audience.
